The most awkward situation (male)
Someone sent me an old Dear Prudence letter, which I tweeted last week, asking ladies to consider the most awkward situation they could ever imagine. Then I said,
nope, this is it
. (The first letter.)
As you'll see, Prudence essentially says, eek, your prospective father-in-law is a pervert, you'll be creeped out by him forever, won't want him anywhere near you, and, as painful as it is, you must talk to your prospective husband about it so he understands your revulsion.
Do you think this is the right advice? (Choose the best answer)
Not sure. He probably deserves to be outed, but the ramifications could be more dire than the infraction.
No. This is a potentially family-shattering event. Talk to the guy, so he knows you know. Set appropriate boundaries.
No. Sometimes silence is best. Assume he is mortified and will behave properly in the future, bust him if he doesn't.
